Benefits of using the ETA Cisco phone service
ETA suite aims to deliver diverse information to a regular Cisco IP phone, to entertain the phone user and to automate business processes in his company. ETA Cisco phone services even bring access to many online services to your fingertips without the need for a browser. That being said, ETA has no intention to phase out the PC in favor of an IP phone, but instead to enhance user productivity by harnessing vast untapped potential of Cisco IP phones in a unique IP phone and PC synergy. If a task takes a single click in your browser, we leave it alone. But if it takes 10 clicks, see if ETA can do it in one or two key presses instead.
Imagine key information readily available in your meeting room without the need to bring a laptop along and recall the WiFi authentication code? Or a service that your customers or visitors can use themselves instead of distracting one of your employees? ETA can do it for you. That – and more. One size is ok, but it never fits all, no matter what they say. Real power comes from individual customer-tailored applications built to suit your specific environment and tasks. Check out the online demo of ETA Cisco phone service to get a glimpse of its potential and then get in touch with an Entelap representative to see what ETA can do for you.

Free ETA XML services will let you:
- view current weather and weather forecasts anywhere, globally
- use Groupon online service
- write notes to “stick” to your Cisco IP phone screen
- ask the magic 8-ball for advice when you’ve got to play it dumb
- check target area current time before you make a long-distance call
- play tic-tac-toe with your colleagues over the network (large field sizes and 5-in-a-row rule make for some interesting games indeed)
- use a scientific calculator on your Cisco phone screen
- and more
Virtual on-screen keyboard is included for use with free ETA XML applications. Don’t think twice.
Prominent paid modules include:
- ETA Cisco Call Recorder (Cisco Voice Recorder). This module provides call recording services controllable directly from the Cisco phone screen. The module uses SIP trunk recording so no SPAN ports or wire taps are needed. Cisco voice recording is made really simple and intuitive. This Cisco call recording module saves both on networking equipment and bandwidth, making it ideal for large scale deployments, even over geographically dispersed locations. - ETA Call Info. This module provides informative, fully-customizable caller/calling info screens for Cisco IP phones. The module queries corporate LDAP directories (for example Microsoft Active Directory) for user information and even provides for user photos. The best way to get communications real personal short of full-fledged video telephony! Advanced IP telephony features such as call transfer and conferencing are of course fully supported.
ETA Cisco phone application innovation and customer service
ETA is a unique service for it is entirely demand-driven. You will not see an XML service included with the ETA simply to keep up with the competition – all applications are developed with clear usage scenarios in mind or on existing customers’ requests. While featuring unified user interface and framework, the ETA Cisco phone service is perfectly flexible. Make your individual user menus to include only the applications you use – right from the Cisco IP phone. This way your ETA dashboard will never get cluttered with useless stuff. And strong administrative controls will ensure that no user abuses irrelevant services.
The ETA Cisco phone service is actively developed. We’re constantly on a lookout for unique applications and features to include with a new version so stay tuned. And if you have an idea, drop us a line and see in implemented in the next version our Cisco phone services!
We’re committed to bringing the best possible user experience with the ETA Cisco phone application. While the beta version may not be entirely error-free, we offer best-effort non-SLA customer support for users of the free ETA Cisco phone service version as well as and regular paid service contracts. These contacts include both free and paid modules support and updates and are SLA-based.
Future of ETA Cisco phone service
We are working every day to extend our Cisco phone services to implement new devices support and develop new modules. We are planning going to implement full support for all Cisco IP Phones equipped with displays. Still we recommend that you use modern IP phones with high-quality color displays such as Cisco 7975, Cisco 7970 or Cisco 7961. Touchscreen functionality is supported with the ETA suite and it goes a long way in terms of user experience as well.
We plan to extend our Cisco call recorder for SIP trunk recording by adding special features aimed for large Call Center environments. We are planning to add support for call monitoring and manager-initiated Cisco call recording.
We plan that ETA Cisco phone services will work with future devices like Cisco CIUS. Of course Cisco voice recorder will be available for CIUS as well.
